The book starts with callie, our main female character, killing her own stepfather for some reasons and then she makes a deal with the bargainer. The first deal had no cost but callie keeps making deals with bargainer since then. In time, the bargainer and callie became friends but for some reason desmond disappears for seven years. And all of a sudden he comes back. Callie was a good strong female character and I loved their relationship with des. "Thief of the souls" should've been more mysterious and his story was short but it could've been a great story. This part wasn't enough for me. Those children and the soldiers were good but thief of the souls couldn't be just one of the rulers of otherworld. Other than that I enjoyed the book.
