Doktor Moreau'nun Adası
Merhaba. Kitabı dün bitirdim ve etkisini yitirmeden hemen yazmalıyım diye düşündüm.
Doktor Moreau'nun Adası benim H. G. Wells'den okuduğum ikinci kitap aslında. Kendi adıma konuşmam gerekirse yazarın diliyle hiçbir zaman anlaşamıyorum sanırım.
Kitap, denizin ortasında yaşam mücadelesi veren Prendick kurtulması ve bir adaya götürülmesiyle başlıyor. Kahramanımız çok geçmeden bu adanın garipliğini farkına varıp olayları çözmeye başlıyor. Yazıldığı döneme göre değerlendirdiğimde böyle bir düşünceye sahip olmak bence çok etkileyiciydi. Kitap içinde barındırdığı gizem faktörüyle birlikte sizi içine çekip sürüklüyor. Fakat kitabın ortalarından sonra çok zor okuduğumu da söylemeliyim. Sürekli gelen betimlemeler bir saatten sonra sıkmaya ve sanki aynı şeyleri okuyormuşum gibi hissettirdi. Kitap güzel bir bilim kurgu kitabı niteliğinde ama ürkütücü veya gerilim dolu olduğunu düşünmüyorum.

Dr. Moreau's Island was the second book that I read by H. G. Wells. According to my experience, I can't get used to the author's language.
The book begins with Prendick, who is struggling to survive in the middle of the sea, being rescued and taken to an island. Our hero soon realizes the strangeness of this island and begins to unravel the events. Considering the period in which it was written, I think it was very impressive to have such an idea. The book draws you in with the mystery factor it contains. But I must say that after the middle of the book, it was very difficult to read. The constant descriptions made me feel bored after an hour and as if I was reading the same things. Dr. Moreau's Island is a good science fiction book, but I don't think it's scary or suspenseful.
