So the general gist of the story is...
When a Doctor makes the deeply debated choice to prioritize rescuing a boy's life over that of the mayor's, it sets off a chain of events resulting in the near-complete loss of his most cherished aspects—his engagement, profession, and societal standing. The sole remnant is his unwavering sense of self-value, rooted in the conviction that he acted ethically by saving the boy, who arrived first. Nevertheless, this assurance becomes precarious as he uncovers that reality is far from its initial appearance. A series of violent incidents, linked to the apparently innocent child, compels him to question even his core beliefs. He ponders whether the fundamental equality of all lives holds true in the grand scheme.
