An expletive, usually used to express
displeasure: "'Goddamn it! Leave my chicken
alone!'
goddamn you
This is an odd construction. Literally, it's a way
a person prays to his or her God to condemn
someone to spend eternity in Hell (see below).
Although that sounds fairly severe, it's generally
considered a mild rebuke nowadays
example:
"'Goddamn you, Wilbur, stop picking your
nose in church."
Hell
This is the place where bad people are
supposed to go after they die. Its climate
varies from religion to religion.In some it's
fiery; in others, it's icy. There are usually
devilsand demons around to make things
even worse. Hell is unpleasant and long
lasting, but just what bad people (our
enemies) deserve.
