This book intrigued me not because of the medical part mainly, i jusst wanted to get an insight of how things work out in wars. They turn out terribly well, often with a bloodyy horrible ending including death but also sometimes with miracles. Doctor Nott is an inspiration. We see his raw feeling in this book, how horrible he felt, how heroic he acted, how he put everything else aside for his job. Not just with surgery, he desperately fought with everything he had to be in use. It was also visible he was partly addicted to this adrenaline and satisfied in life by being helpful. I would recommend this book to every medicine student. If you want to specialize in surgery, even better for you. I also want to thank the person who recommended it to me, it was months ago and i dont know the person but thx for it!
