A heartbroken girl, a handsome but dangerous Fate, and a fairytale-like setting… Once Upon a Broken Heart revolves around this magical trio. Evangeline’s story begins with heartbreak but quickly turns into a world full of twists, enchantments, and unexpected turns. I especially loved the snowy atmosphere of the North and Jacks’ charming yet untrustworthy nature. Evangeline felt a bit naive at times, but as someone who still believes in fairy tales, I could relate to her. The pacing was a little slow in some parts, but overall it kept me curious and engaged. I’m really looking forward to learning more about Jacks because he’s such a mysterious and layered character. If you enjoy whimsical romances with a slightly dark edge, this one’s for you. I’ll definitely be reading the sequel.
