Luca is the 2nd of the Windsors. He is in Finance. Val has been his assistant for 8 years. Even if Luca at first denied her presence, he gets used to her, and year by year they become inseparable. Like Ares, Luca has to marry someone who is chosen by his Grandma for the merger. His Grandma chooses Natalia Ivanov for his bride. Thank God, Natalia is not as toxic as Hannah in the first book. She accepts their secret marriage and goes on her way. That's wonderful after what Hannah did to Raven. I was on pins and needles scared that something could happen at any moment while reading this book because of Hannah. I hate her very much. Even the side characters of this book are better than the first one.
The only thing that I don't understand is that before they announced their marriage, they decided to keep it a secret. However, they were forced to tell some people and even if they told about it, nobody heard their marriage. Those people didn't even gossip about their marriage and it feels impossible for me.
I fell in love with Luca. What he did for Val is magnificent. I love Val's pink stick notes And what Luca did with them is beyond everything He is very much in love with her and he doesn't hesitate to show his love. He made his move with more determination than Ares. Luca is more genuine than Ares.
And I cried a little for her. Oh, Val... I don't want to say something but I felt a lump in my throat while reading some parts.
They both have something in common from their past. They don't believe in love. They heal each other. I have to thank Grandma for this because she made this happen. She has a very important role in this book, too. I still hate her, btw. I don't approve of what she did to Luca and Val. I know that if she hadn't done that, they wouldn't have been in this happiness. But still, it doesn't make me sympathize with her. Later on, I'm sure she'll do something unforgivable. I don't trust that woman even if she keeps saying that she means good. Yeah, right. I'm not buying it
Needless to say, it was a great read.
