“Veronika Decides to Die” is written in fairly simple language. However, the author conveys human emotions exceptionally well. I think his own experience of staying in a psychiatric hospital played a significant role in that. Another positive aspect of the novel is how deeply he develops the stories of several characters, especially Eduard and Mari. Veronika’s suicide attempt ends up giving many people a renewed desire to live. Dr. Igor also plays a major role in the story.
