Alara: I loved being away from the craziness of the city for a while. There was no reception out there, so we had no idea what was going on anywhere outside of our little camp. And nobody could get in touch with us. It felt so liberating. Being in nature, away from material possessions and the noise of modern life... It’s only when you’re away from it all, off the grid, that you realize how crazy all of our neurotic dependency on ‘owning things’ is, all the stuff we think we need to make us happy. Truth is, out there, bow and arrow, tent, basic food … there’s a peace in that. I also think it’s really important to remind yourself of what really matters in life.
