This story is about detectives and espionage. Malcolm Jaggard is an economist, but the truth is that he's working for a secret government agency. Malcolm falls in love with Penelope Ashton, daughter of George Ashton, a Russian scientist whose life is a real mystery. One afternoon someone threw acid on Gillian's face, the other daughter of George, therefore Malcolm begins to investigate who and why someone would do that. In the search for the person who threw the acid, Malcolm finds that George is not who pretends to be and has many secrets, but also that George escaped and no one knows about him. So the agency where Jaggard works and other secret agencies try to locate George because his knowledge is very important for the government, and the knowledge means power. The story is very interesting but a bit short and the ending is very unexpected.
