Spirit of Capitalism
> "It was the power of religious influence, not alone, but more than anything else, which created the differences of which we are conscious to-day” Max Weber saw reformation as a new form of religion control, not elimination of Church’s ones. His aim focused on finding intimate relationship between asceticism and capitalism. He

4/5 Stars (%78/100) Even though I was forced to read Emerson during my bachelor's, I really liked his style and his perspective on nature as a transcendentalist. Because he was heavily influenced by Hindu mythology and Persian Sufism, Emerson rejected the material world and focused on the spiritual world where the divine/God exists. That's the basic principle of Transcendentalism anyway. Nature is one of the most, if not the most important work of Emerson and even though there are many parts that I agree, I think I still prefer "The American Scholar." Still, no one can deny the importance of Emerson and his works in all American history.

You will never think about your brain in the same way again. The brain is often portrayed as an organ with different regions dedicated to specific tasks. But that textbook model is wrong. The brain is a dynamic system, constantly modifying its own circuitry to match the demands of the environment and the body in which it finds itself. If you were

"from the perspective of others I am part of the world, but when I observe the world from my perspective I am nowhere to be found. to observe is to create perspective. The dual substance of Christ - the yearning, so human, so superhuman, of man to attain God... has always been a deep inscrutable mystery to me. My principle anguish and source of all my joys and sorrows from my youth onward has been the incessant, merciless battle between the spirit and the flesh... And my soul is the arena where these two armies have clashed and met.
Listen my beloved
Listen, O dearly beloved! I am the Truth of the universe, The center of circumferences. I am the Principle and the Constituent. The power initiated between heavens and the Earth. I created perception in you, so that you can perceive Me Your perceptions come into reality, only if you could perceive Me. But you cannot perceive me through yourself, you cannot see Me through your own eyes, Only through My eyes, you can see Me and yourself.. ⁵²⁰¹³¹⁴ By Ibn Arabi

reading the blind owl from perspective of nietzsche
Sadeq Hedayat is one of my favorite author in the literary world. The Blind Owl that introduced me to Sadeq Hedayat many years ago and it has entered my list of the best. Hedayat's masterpiece The Blind Owl attracted me with the very first lines, and caused me to experience a kind of hysteria with the last page of the book. Coming

Seeking a clue to the principle involved, she asked the young woman one day, “What is your goal in life? What is it that you want to achieve?” The young woman answered immediately, as if the answer had long been clear in her mind: “I’ll tell you what I want. If nobody had an automobile, then I would want to have one automobile. If some people have one, then I want to have two." ... The woman, Ayn thought, would conventionally be called “selfish.” But wasn’t a 'self'—that which thinks, judges, values, and chooses—precisely what she lacked? I want to achieve things that are important—important objectively, in reality, in fact—thought Ayn; she wants only to make an impression on others. I choose my own goals, I decided that I wanted to write, and what I wanted to write; she struggles to imitate the goals chosen by others. I set my | own standards; her desires are dictated by the standards of others. Why? What is the concept that will name the essence of the difference involved..?

Voltaire said about God that ‘there is no God, but don’t tell that to my servant, lest he murder me at night’. Hammurabi would have said the same about his principle of hierarchy, and Thomas Jefferson about human rights. Homo sapiens has no natural rights, just as spiders, hyenas and chimpanzees have no natural rights. But don’t tell that to our servants, lest they murder us at night
“Aren’t you supposed to hate me?” I asked. “I do hate you,” Xander replied, happily devouring his third scone. “If you notice, I have kept the blueberry confections for myself and gave you”—he shuddered—“the lemon-flavored scones. Such is the depth of my loathing for you personally and on principle.”
