Bu yolla muhalefeti destekleyerek manipüle ettiği seçimler vasıtasıyla istediği yönetimi iktidara taşıyıp amaçlarını gerçekleştiriyor.
"Arap Baharı" döneminde test edilmeye başlanan yumuşak darbe mühendisliği mekanizması ilk başarısını 2013'te Mısır'da daha sonra da Tunus ve Sudan'da gösterdi.
Yumuşak darbe mühendisliğinin başarılı olamadığı Libya, Yemen, Suriye, Irak ve Afganistan gibi ülkeler ise işgal ya da iç savaş kaosuyla cezalandırıldı. Ancak bu ülkeler ne kadar ağır bedeller ödeseler de bir o kadarını da abdye odettiler.
