Duvar ve Adam, özünde adalet temasını ön plana çıkaran bir novella. Yakamoz isimli bir genç adam Oslo’da yaşamaktadır ve yıllardan beri önünden geçip durduğu tarihi bir duvarda bazı gariplikler dikkatini çeker. Art arda yaşadığı tuhaflıklar duvardan yükselen bir genç kadın sesiyle zirveye ulaşır. Duvarın içindeki kişi 1942 yılından beri buraya hapsolmuş Norveçli bir Yahudi olduğunu iddia etmektedir. Yakamoz karakteri ise halihazırda bazı psikolojik sorunlarla mücadele halinde olan, yalnız ve mutsuz bir adamdır ve başına gelen bu garip olay sonucunda iyiden iyiye keçileri kaçırdığını düşünür. Hikâyenin devamında da kendisini türlü maceraların içinde bulur.
