Veee filmine hayran olduğum “The Shining”in kitabının ‘son’ yaprağını da çevirdim..Film Cinnet olarak çevrilmiş, kitap ise Medyum ki ne alaka Medyum!.
Bir diğer konuysa; filmle kitap arasında ciddi farklılıklar olması, finalinde bile..Demek ki Stephen King bu yüzden filme büyük eleştiriler getirmiş :)
Konuya gelecek olursak; Jack Torrance alkol sorunu yüzünden hem ailevi hem de mesleki olarak ciddi sıkıntılar yaşamış eski bir öğretmendir ve bir yandan da oyun yazmaktadır. Alkol sorununun sebep olduğu bir olaydan dolayı okuldan atılan Jack, yakın arkadaşı Al’in de yardımıyla Overlook Oteli’nde iş bulmuştur. Otel, en yakın yerleşim yerine 60 km mesafede ve zorlu kış şartlarının üst seviyede yaşandığı bir dağın tepesindedir. Jack ve ailesi otelin kapalı olduğu sezonda oranın tüm sorumluluğunu üstlenecektir. Bu işin, daha önce oğlu Danny’e şiddet uygulayıp kolunu kırmasını ve alkol sorununun sebep olduğu olayları unutturmasını ummuşlardır. Ama Danny, daha Overlook Oteli’ne gitmeden bu tecrübenin hiç de bekledikleri gibi olmayacağını, kendilerini orada “litak”ın beklediğini hissetmektedir. Güçlü hisleri olan Danny’nin bu yeteneğine “Shining(Işıltı)” demişti Hallorann..Zaman geçtikçe ailenin huzurunu kaçıracak durumlar yaşanmaya başlar.
