While Osman might have genuinely had a point about their military effectiveness, the Janisseries were, surprisingly, not entirely on board with this plan. So Osman II was given the distinction of becoming the first example of regicide in Ottoman history, killed by his own army through the intentive combination of strangulation and "compression of the testicles."
