5/5 Stars (%90/100) Before everything else, I have to say that Andy Serkis's performance made this audiobook at least 3 times better. I bought the book because I was expecting him to do the Gollum voice but he chose unique voices for everyone. I especially liked the Misty Mountains song in the beginning as well as other songs throughout the book as well. Even if you have another audiobook copy of The Hobbit, you should definitely listen to it from Andy Serkis. I wanted to read the book but instead, I decided to listen to it, which took longer than I expected because I forgot about it for the most part. I've always loved The Hobbit maybe not as much as The Silmarillion or the Trilogy but it is still a great book for me. I LOVE Bilbo's unique character and also the dwarves (they are more likable than they are in the movies). I also felt really bad for the book because many people decided not to read it because they did not like the movies. The book is very different than the movies and it is much better in my opinion. I mean the whole Battle of the Five Armies happens in like 2 chapters not a whole movie... In short, The Hobbit is a great book compared to Tolkien's other books, perhaps even greater than most of the fantasy works out there. Plus, Andy Serkis's performance is phenomenal! You should definitely try it.
