5/5 Stars (%90/100) First of all, I have to inform you that I've watched the miniseries before reading the book. I absolutely loved the show and plan to rewatch it since I finished the book. Since this is not about the show I am not going to go into detail but I could not help myself but compare the two. I loved the book and even if I did not watch the show I would still like it, I'm sure. However, there were some parts where King goes into extreme detail and I found those parts a bit boring and it quickly became tedious after a while. I also should tell you that this is my first book from King. I've read a lot about him and I even read some parts from his book but I never finished one because they are all very very long. Yet, 11.22.63 made me love almost every part of it, I was hyped from beginning till the end even though I knew what was going to happen. Even though the book starts as a time travel sci-fi novel, it quickly turns into mystery/thriller genre together with historical fiction. The characters are the most important thing in the novel and King wants you to make sure of that. (He talks about the same thing more or less in interviews) I loved Jake and whenever I was reading his dialogues I did it with James Franco's voice. I also liked Sadie's character more in the novel because we learn much more about her compared to the show. I don't want to go into fangirl mode but this book is definitely brilliant.

I wish I had been emotionally blocked, after all. Because everything that followed—every terrible thing—flowed from those tears.

I knew where I was; Lisbon Falls, Maine, deep in the heart of Androscoggin County. The real question was when I was.
“Two minutes. I told you, it’s always two minutes. No matter how long you stay.” He coughed, spat into a fresh wad of napkins, and folded them away in his pocket. “And when you go down the steps, it’s always 11:58 A.M. on the morning of September ninth, 1958. Every trip is the first trip.
“You can change history, Jake. Do you understand that? John Kennedy can live.”
It wasnt a day but a night. The night that change my life was the night my father murdirt my mother and two brothers and hurt me bad. He hurt my sister too, so bad she went into a comah. In three years she died without waking up. Her name was Ellen and I loved her very much.

Her name is Sadie Clayton. She’ll be at the reception, she’ll know absolutely no one, and I expect you to be especially nice to her.

Sadie was good-looking in an artless what-you-see-is-what-you-get American-girl way. She was something else, as well. On the day of the party I thought that something else was plain old big-person clumsiness. Later I found out she wasn’t clumsy at all. Was, in fact, the farthest thing from it.

My thoughts returned to her that night as I got ready for bed. She filled a large amount of space in a very nice way, and my eye hadn’t been the only one following the pleasant sway of her progress in the print dress, but really, that was it. What more could there be?

Who can find a virtuous woman? the proverb asks. For her price is above rubies She seeketh wool and flax and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants’ ships, that bringeth food from afar
