One of the most important figures in the Harlem Renaissance and also one of my favorite African-American writers is Langston Hughes. This essay of him (like his other works) is full of sadness and hope. He talks about the situation of black artists in America and even though their condition is better, they are still far away from the white artists. However, Hughes believes that the works of black artists are as good as the others if not better. He has hope for the future and tries to inspire young black artists to keep on working. I really enjoyed this short essay.
Onu kırmış olmalı yaşamında birisi.
dinledikçe susması, düşündükçe susması...
Tek başına iki kişi olmuş kendisiyle gölgesi ,
heykelini yontuyor yalnızlığın ustası.
