KİTAPLAR ÖLMESİN (DON’T LET THE BOOKS DİE)
Sadece canlılar mı ölür, peki ya kitaplar? Kitapların da bir ruhu yok mudur?
Kitap sektörünün ve yayıncılığın zor günler geçirdiği günümüzde, acilen bir şeyler yapılmazsa eğer kitaplar ölecek ve kültür büyük bir darbe görecektir. Kitapların ölmesi demek, toplumun hafızasının ölmesi demektir ki bu da ciddi bir zihin krizi yaratır. Bizler sadece iklim krizi ve küresel salgınlar değil farkına varamasak da, zihin krizleri ve teknolojik salgınlar da yaşarız. Kitapsız kalan bir milletin hayat damarları yavaş yavaş kurur ve fikir yakıtıyla aydınlanamayan beyinler gün geçtikçe karanlıklarda boğulmaya başlar. Buna ben ‘’modern cehalet’’ adını veriyorum. Bizler kitaplardan uzaklaşıp modern çağın cahilleri hâline gelirsek eğer, geçmişle bağlarımız kopar; kültürel mirasımız ve geleneklerimiz yok olmaya başlar, düşünce ve bilinç ekseninimiz ise gittikçe daralır.
Diyeceksiniz ki -e kitap ve yapay zekâ- kitapların yerini alabilir. Sizce gerçekten alabilir mi? Ruhu olmayan bir makina, beynimizi tek başına tatmin etmeye ve çalıştırmaya yetebilir mi? Dikkat etmezsek eğer bizler de dijital insanlar hâline gelip robotlaşacağız ve robotlardan hiçbir farkımız kalmayacak. Empati ve duygu yoksunu bir toplum olmak ise ileride ciddi suçlar ve tehlikeler doğurabilir. Dikkat ediniz teknoloji gelişiyor ama insanlar bir türlü mutlu olamayıp antidepresanlara başvuruyor. Tüm bu nedenlerle teknolojiden uzak mı kalacağız? Elbette hayır.
Teknoloji baş döndürü bir hızla ilerlerken dikkat etmemiz gereken en önemli şey, beynimizi ve geleceğimizi teknolojiye ve yapay zekâya esir etmemektir. Bizler, bilinçli bir şekilde geleceğe hazır olmalı, beynimizin kontrolünü ele almalıyız. Beynimizi esir edersek sadece elimizdekileri değil geleceğimizi de kaybetmiş oluruz. Kitap okumak işte bu yüzden bir hobi değildir aksine hayatidir. Kitaplar ki beynimizin egzersizi, ruhumuzun serüveni, duygularımızın düşüncelerle kesiştiği yerdir.
Paranın yarattığı maneviyatsız, teknolojik insan sizce mutlu olabilir mi?
Diyeceksiniz ki paramız yok okuyamıyoruz. Kitap okumak istiyor ama gerekli bütçeyi ayıramadığımızı düşünüyorsanız kütüphanelerden yararlanabilir, arkadaşlarınızla kitap değişimleri yapabilirsiniz. Yeter ki kitapları terk etmeyin ve bu gösterişli dünyadan kendinizi mahrum etmeyin.Bizler tüm bu sorunların aslında farkındayız ama sadece sitem edip yazmakla yetiniyor bir türlü eyleme geçemiyoruz oysa atılan küçük adımlar ve kıvılcımlar gayretlerimizi birleştirirsek eğer güçlü sonuçlar doğurabilir. Kitap alamayanlara hediye etmek, dışarıda kahveye verilecek olan parayla en azından ayda bir de olsa kitap almak vb buna benzer tedbirlerle önemli adımlar atmamız mümkündür. Küçük adımlar ileride çok daha büyük adımlara neden olabilir. Unutmayalım ki insan komplike bir varlıktır ve beden ruh zihin doyumu olmadan sadece yapay aletlerle tamamlanamaz. Dijital araçların uzun süre kullanımı da üstelik sağlık sorunlarına neden olup düşünce sürecini sekteye uğratabilmektedir. Editörler sektör değiştirirse, yayınevleri kapanırsa kitapsız bir dünyada nasıl yaşanabilir hiç düşündük mü?
Kitapları yaşatmazsak, kaybedince değerini çok daha iyi anlarız ama işte o zaman da iş işten geçmiş olur. Kitaplarımızı raflarda süs olarak tutarsak onlardaki ruhun farkına varamayız oysa onların da bir ruhu vardır. Onlarla konuşalım, kahramanlarımızla gülüp ağlayalım hatta onlarla tartışalım. Düşünürlerin düşünceleri üzerinde düşünüp gerekirse tezlerini kendi tezlerimizle çürütelim, yeter ki üretmesini bilelim. Kitap eleştirisi yapamıyor, yazarlarını araştırmıyorsak kitapları anladığımızı sanarız ama aslında okumalarımız çok yüzeysel olur. Genelde ikinci okumalarda ayrıntıları keşfederiz tek bir okuma bile yetmezken bir kez okuyup geçmemeliyiz
Kitapların o düşünsel, hissi, ve hayal hazzına erenler gerçek okurlardır ve onlar bir toplulukta hemen fark edilirler çünkü kitaplar zihni, zekâyı ve dili geliştirir; hayalgücü ve empati kurmak da dahil olmak üzere insana bir sürü yetenek kazandırır ve bu özellikler insanı kalabalıkta bile seçtirir ve fark yaratır. Gerçek okur olmamız için ilk adım kitaba dokunmaktır çünkü kitaba dokunmak onu hissetmektir.
Kitaplara dokunun ve onları sevin. Sevdiklerinize kitaplar hediye edin. Birlikte bir kitabı paylaşmak fikirlerden fikir yakalamak, akıldan akıl yaratmaktır.
Kitaplar özgürlüktür ve sanal dünyaya asla esir edilmemelidir.
Kitaplardan kastetmiş olduğumuz şey elbette ki titizlikle seçilenlerdir. Özellikle de iyi eserleri popüler kültüre ve dijital çağa kurban etmemeli ve onlara sahip çıkmalıyız. Çokluk yokluk doğurur bilirim. Çokluk içinde yok olmamanın yolu ise ün yerine kitabı ve okuru sevmekten geçer. Herkes bu sektöre adım adıp yazar olmaya çalışıyor çünkü bu sektör temel bir sektör olması gerekirken ne yazık ki sadece popüler bir sektördür. Kitap çıkartmayı şöhret aracı olarak görenler, ünlü olmak için attıkları hızlı adımların aynısını ne yazık ki bu sektörü geliştirmek için atmamaktadır. Oysa yayıncılık sektörüne yapılacak hizmet, yazarın kendisine ve hatta topluma ve kültüre de fayda sağlayacaktır. Bu gibi nedenlerle suçu tümüyle alım gücümüze ve bütçemize atmak doğru değildir çünkü bizler toplum olarak kitabın gerçek değerinin farkında bile değiliz. Bunun farkına varmış olsaydık, zararlı alışkanlıklarımızın yerini sadece kitaplar alabilirdi.
Okumak kelime kökü itibariyle de (ok: sözcüğü) yol ve yön gösteren, hedefi olan bir eylemdir. Bilinçtir, bilimdir, yaşatılması gereken bir süreçtir. Sadece dijital kitaplara bel bağlarsak düşünce sürecimizi sınırlayıp zamanla yok edebiliriz ki bu da gelecekte çok daha büyük bir tehlikeler doğurur çünkü beynimizi teknolojiye esir edersek bu durum ileride ciddi güvenlik risklerine de yol açacaktır.
Kitap para kazanma aracı da değildir, o bir misyondur, vizyondur, eğitimin ve toplumun geleceğinin garantisi, en güçlü aracı ve etiğidir. Kitaplara bu denki bencilce ve sığ perspektiften bakar da bütüncül ve derinlikli düşünmezsek kitaplar ölmeye devam edecektir. Kitaplar önce bilgisizlikten sonra ilgisizlik ve sonra da sevgisizlikten ölürler. Sevmek terk etmemektir sadık dostlarımızı, kültüre ve tarihe ihanet etmemektir. Onca insanın birikimine, donanımına, araştırmasına, emeğine sadık kalmaktır.
Kitap bir ağacın çocuğu, doğanın koynundaki bilgi tomurcuğudur.
Kitaplar basılı şekilde değil de dijital olursa ağaçlar kesilmez ve doğaya katkı sağlanır diyenleriniz olabilir ama şunu biliniz ki -ağaç kesmeden de kağıt üretmek- mümkündür. Nasıl mı? Onu da ‘’ağaç kesmeden kağıt üretmek mümkün’’ adındaki projemle ayrıntılı bir şekilde gündeme getirip, farkındalık yaratmaya çalışacağım.
O hâlde -kitaplar ölmesin, fikirler ve eserler silinmesin- parolasıyla çıktığım bu yolda hem bu projeme hem de doğaya katkı sağlayacağını düşündüğüm projeme destek veriniz ki güçlü bir sinerjiyle sağlam köprüler kurup geleceğimizi koruyabilelim.

DON’T LET THE BOOKS DİE
Do only living things die? Don't books have souls too? In today's world where the book industry and publishing are having a hard time, books will die if something is not done urgently. The death of books is a brain attack. We are not only experiencing climate crisis and global epidemics, but also brain crises and technological epidemics. The lifeblood of a nation without books is slowly drying up, the
brains of individuals do not burn with the fuel of ideas and are drowned in darkness, because to move away from books means to break away from the past, to break with our cultural heritage and traditions. disappears, our axis of thought and consciousness narrows.
You will say -e books and artificial intelligence - can replace books. Do you really think you can? Could a soulless machine alone be enough to feed and run our brains? If we are not careful, we will become digital humans and become robots and we will be no different from robots. Being a society that lacks empathy and emotion can lead to serious crimes and dangers in the future. Beware, technology is developing, but people cannot be happy and resort to antidepressants. Are we going to stay away from technology for all these reasons? Of course not. While technology is advancing at a dizzying pace, the most important thing we need to pay attention to is not to enslave our brain and future to technology and artificial intelligence. We must consciously prepare for the future and take control of our brains. If we enslave our brains, we lose not only what we have, but also our future. That's why reading books is not a hobby, on the contrary, it is vital. Books are the exercise of our brain, the adventure of our soul, and the intersection of our thoughts and feelings.
Do you think the soulless, technological person created by money can be happy?
You will say that we do not have money, we cannot study. If you want to read a book but think that we cannot allocate the necessary budget, you can benefit from the libraries and exchange books with your friends. As long as you don't give up on books and don't deprive yourself of this flamboyant world. In fact, we are aware of all these problems, but we are content with only reproaching and writing, but we cannot take action, whereas small steps and sparks can produce powerful results if we combine. It is possible to take important steps with similar measures, such as giving books as gifts to those who can't afford it, and buying at least one book a month with the money to be given for coffee outside. Small steps can lead to much bigger ones in the future. Let's not forget that man is a complex being and cannot be completed only with artificial tools without the satisfaction of body, soul and mind.
Long-term use of digital tools can also cause health problems and disrupt the thought process. Have we ever thought about how we can live in a world without books if editors change industries and publishing houses close?
If we do not keep the books alive, we will appreciate the value much better when we lose them, but then it will be too late. If we keep our books as decorations on the shelves, we cannot notice the spirit in them, but they also have a spirit. Let's talk to them, laugh and cry with our heroes, and even argue with them. Let's reflect on the thoughts of thinkers and, if necessary, refute their theses with our own theses, as long as we know how to produce them. If we cannot criticize the books and research their authors, we think we understand the books, but in fact our reading remains very superficial. We usually discover the details in the second reading and even a single reading is not enough, we should not be content with reading it once. Those who get that intellectual, emotional, and imaginative delight from books are true readers and are instantly recognizable in a community because books develop the mind, intellect, and language; It gives people many talents, including imagination and empathy, and all these features make you stand out even in the crowd and make a difference. The first step to being a true reader is to touch the book, because to touch the book is to feel it. Touch the books and love them. Gift a book to your loved ones. Sharing a book together is making ideas out of ideas, creating minds out of minds.
Books are freedom and should never be a slave to the virtual world.
What we mean by books is, of course, meticulously selected books. In particular, we should not sacrifice good works to popular culture and the digital age, and we should protect them. I know that multiplicity breeds absence. The way not to be ruined in the multitude is to love the book and the reader, not the fame. Everyone is trying to step into this industry and become a writer because it should be a basic industry, but unfortunately it's just a popular industry. Those who see publishing books as a means of fame, unfortunately, do not take the quick steps they took to become famous to develop this sector. But serving the publishing industry will benefit the author himself, and even society and culture. For such reasons, it is not right to put the blame entirely on our own purchasing power and budget, because we as a society are not even aware of the true value of the book. If we had realized this, only books could change our harmful habits.
Reading is an action that guides in terms of word root and has a goal. It is consciousness, science, a process that must be lived. If we rely only on digital books, we can limit our thought process and destroy it over time, which points to a much greater danger in the future because if we enslave our brains to technology, this will pose serious security risks in the future.
The book is not a money making tool, it is a mission, a vision, the guarantee of the future of education and society, the most powerful tool and morality. If we don't look at books from this selfish and shallow point of view and don't think holistically and deeply, books will continue to die. Books die first from ignorance, then from indifference, and then from lovelessness. To love is not to give up on our loyal friends, not to betray culture and history. It is to be faithful to the knowledge, equipment, research and labor of all these people.
A book is the child of a tree, the bud of knowledge in the bosom of nature.
There may be some who say that if the books are digital instead of printed, trees will not be cut, they will contribute to nature, but you should know that it is possible to produce paper without cutting trees. How? With my project "It is Possible to Produce Paper Without Cutting Trees", I will try to raise awareness by bringing it up in detail.
In that case, please support my project, which I think will contribute to both this project and the nature, on this path I set out with the motto --don't let books die, ideas and works should not be deleted. - So that we can build strong bridges with a strong synergy and protect our future.
Starting from all these important points, we say in a much stronger voice: "Let books not die, ideas and works should not be erased."
