In Vergilius’s Aeneas, as Rome takes shape, Aeneas merges his strength with Lavinia—the daughter and symbolic mother of the Latins. Part mythology, part history, and full of fiction, the book flows so smoothly it almost reads itself. When I finished it, I caught myself wishing I knew Latin, or wanting to learn it—like Ursula. Just… preferably before I turn seventy :)
