"Bekle Beni" is the last book of Zülfü Livaneli. Previously I read "Rüzgarlar Hep Gençtir". After this book, I understand the opinion of the author very well. Actually, the author gives us his life through the characters of the book. Selim and Leyla's lives pass with many challenges. Selim has problems in the country. He is a thoughtful, philosophical person. Because of his opinions about the government, he is punished in prison. Therefore, he has to leave his family for a long time. In his country, different ideas are against the government. Freedom is restricted. If you want to be free, you should be silent about injustices. However, Selim takes all of the risks and leaves his family, and the most important thing, which is "his family". I can understand Livaneli gives us messages about his life and his challenges. Because he lived the same thing because of his opinions. I like this book because it sheds light on Turkey in the 1960s.
