I don't need to tell anything about Shakespeare or his sonnets. Instead, I'll share some of my favourite quotes and sonnets with you. A must-read in my opinion.
"Making a famine where abundance lies,
Thyself thy foe, to thy sweet self too cruel." (Sonnet 1)
"Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate." (Sonnet 18)
"For thy sweet love remember’d such
wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state
with kings." (Sonnet 29)
"All days are nights to see till I see thee,
And nights bright days when dreams
do show thee me." (Sonnet 43)
"In faith, I do not love thee with mine eyes,
For they in thee a thousand errors note," (Sonnet 141)
"My love is as a fever, longing still
For that which longer nurseth the disease," (Sonnet 147)
"If thy unworthiness rais’d love in me,
More worthy I to be belov’d of thee." (Sonnet 150)
