*It may contain spoilers* The book begins with an introduction, stating that Edward Prendrick wants to explain his uncle's notes. Then we read the notes from his mouth. He remains alone as a result of the sinking of the ship on which he is traveling and after other two sailors in evacuation boat fighting and falling into the water. A ship that saves Prendrick, who runs out of hopes is on the island of Dr Moreau. The animals on the ship and a person having strange-looking catch Prendrick's attention. Everything gets even stranger as he reaches the island and meets Dr Moreau. As we read the story, we realize that this is not just a story of a professor who does strange experiments on a desert island. These events, that we see through Prendrick's eyes are actually a story that symbolizes the issues of god-man, nature-civilization by using different figurines. From time to time we will witness the ideas of animal people who show the ideas of human beings about God. Dr Moreau is completely different as appearance than anyone else on the island. As Prendrick says, he has a face he has never seen before. Just as God with a unique look should be. Dr Moreau, as a God did not create them because of a need. He did it because he was curious as he said in the section that he explained to Prendrick. The interest is entirely a curiosity arising from the wish of God to see the boundaries of his own power. And due to the fact that he wants to show his might to someone, god creates animal people. In the heavenly religions, it is believed that God does not need servant hood by human beings. However, God have to draw some limits to prevent people from moving away from him, so that he can continue to being God. We see that the animal people are afraid of Dr Moreau. Thus, we can say that Dr Moreau has an obedience on animal people and this obedience caused by fear. Montgomery is in the role of intermediary figure between god and people. We are able to think about him like a prophet. The bond with the animal populace is a loyalty born from love. He is not a tough and strict character but a softer and more affectionate reminder, like the prophets adopted in heavenly religions. And we see that Prendrick compares Montgomery to the animal public as appearance. This again recalls the prophets created as human but equipped with some miracles from god. While Prendrick's analogy to Montgomery human side, on the other side the whip he carries in his hand and the number of fingers he possesses are some divine attributes dedicated to him by Dr Moreau whom we see as god. The words called the law in the story are the orders that god has revealed to the prophets through revelation. He is also obliged to keep them away from a place called house of pain. So we see him constantly reminding them of these words and controlling them. Individuals about the animal people symbolize humans views, thoughts and beliefs. After Dr Moreau's death, the dog man says to Prendrick that he sees everything, but he still believes and is loyal to him. We can say that the dog man pictures the faithful human part. Because when Dr Moreau died, the dog man deified Prendrick in his eyes. In the cause of him chose to believe in spite of everything, and he needs a phenomenon of god. The dog man's this attitude describes people who do not stop believing in God even if they are absolutely in doubt. We can compare that the dog man seeing Dr Moreau's death with her own eyes to factual science using methods and experiments. This situation is exactly like the science we can realize with our own senses. But despite all this, the dog-man draws a completely faithful profile, unlike an empiricist appearance. The sayer of the law who lives among the people of the animal and is one of them represents the clergy. He is completely from animal community and has no divine qualities. These clergys are generally in the leader place among religiously governed groups. When we look at all these features, we can see that sayer of the law plays the role of religious leaders whom we call today's Papa and St Patrick. Before Dr Moreau die hyena swine man has a god-believing but wanting to be free profile. Tasting blood is proof of that. It is not even certain whether he believes in God or not. The reason why he obeys is probable coming from the fear of the pain of house. With the death of God, we witness that the hyena swine man's ideas have changed permanently and undoubtedly. Actually there remains no phenomena that would need him to suppress the facts he believed before, and this has a big role. We can cite these phenomena the punishing god Dr Moreau and house of pain symbolizing the hell. Later in the story, we learn that the leopard man from the animal community enjoyed the blood. We know that Montgomery and Moreau make great efforts to hold animals from enjoying the blood. Because once they get this flavor, they will have no return. The taste of the blood symbolizes human souls. In fact, they are human features that are already inherent in human nature but are prohibited by God. God forbids these human souls with apparently have nothing bad to prevent people from fully liberating and returning to their own nature. Because as I stated before, there is no point in being a god when no one obeys him. In fact, we can compare their starting to become wild when they are like human beings to the conflict of nature and civilization. As they break these prohibited orders, they will feel happier, peaceful and completed. Under the name of God's law, they will not want to return to their state of constant restriction. Because they will begin to realize that these restrictions mean nothing in their favours, but just a game that God has set up to keep them at their disposal. M'ling is disgusted by the sailors on the ship and Prendrick, because they are in the form of civilized people. When Prendrick returns to his country, what he says is that I do not want to return among people anymore. Prendrick said that he did not want to give up his life between animal people, wild people. Because he found his own essence on the island and doesn't want to lose it again. When he first came to the island, the animal knew that people who were civilized would disgust him as well, and he knows he can't keep up with civilized people. He saw that Dr Moreau was not interested in them and did not like them. It creates all this just to satisfy itself. He knows God once, and it is impossible to believe him again. Prendrick says all the people seem to me are like animals in human forms. The reason for this is that there is an uncivilized who seeks freedom and essence in all people. There is a god being trying to restrict and attach humans direct his own profits. On the other hand we see humans being captive and in conflict in themselves. They all died, but some of them did not give up believing, some fight for freedom, some of do not find any answer. But after these every character find their each way.
