Today, I read a poem of yours and it made me cry; "I Have Longed To Move Away".
Both being passionately attached to life and madly running away from it fit so nicely into the verses of a poem, Dylan. Every time I come face to face with you, I hear the words you say and get lost in the meaning of it. Reading the lines you write is like
Ode to a Nightingale
My heart aches, and a drowsy numbness pains
My sense, as though of hemlock I had drunk,
Or emptied some dull opiate to the drains
One minute past, and Lethe-wards had sunk:
'Tis not through envy of thy happy lot,
But being too happy in thine happiness,—

Nelson Mandela once said, “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart.” He was so right. When you make the effort to speak someone else’s language, even if it’s just
basic phrases here and there, you are saying to them, “I understand that you have a culture and identity that exist beyond me. I see you as a human being.”
Of course I will sometimes be wrong? What's so strange about that? Am I so stupid as to always be right?
