Chris Hadfield, Uzayda yürüyen ilk Kanada'lı astronot. Eski Kanada Kraliyet Hava Kuvvetleri savaş pilotudur.
Hadfield 1995 yılında STS-74 ve 2001 yılında STS-100 olmak üzere 2 kere uzay mekiği ile uçuş görevinde bulundu. 19 Aralık 2012 tarihinde başlatılan Soyuz TMA-07M projesinin parçası olan Uluslararası Uzay İstasyonu (ISS) üzerinde uzun süre kalmak için, planlandığı gibi 21 Aralık 2012 de Keşif 34 ve Keşif 35 (Expedition 34 &Expedition 35) ile istasyona geldi ve mürettebata komuta eden ilk Kanadalı oldu. 12 Mayıs 2013 de komuta görevini teslim ederek 13 Mayıs 2013'te dünyaya döndü.
Uluslararası uzay istasyonundayken çektiği videolar ile merak edilen soruların cevaplarını insanlara göstermiştir. Dünya’ya dönmeden önce David Bowie’nin ‘Space Oddity’ adlı parçasını yeniden yorumlayarak yerçekimsiz ortamdaki ilk müzik videosunu çekmiştir. Gönderdiği video ve fotoğraflarla birçok insanın ilgisini uzaya yöneltmeyi başarmıştır.
