Reading The Grid System by Keir Elam made me look at design with fresh eyes. I had always thought of grids as just invisible lines to help place things neatly, but this book showed me how much thought and intention can go into using them. It’s not a how-to manual—it’s more like sitting down with someone who really cares about structure and wants to share why it matters.
What I liked most was how the book made me think, without feeling heavy or overly academic. Even though some parts were a bit dense, I appreciated how it made me more aware of balance, order, and even storytelling in design. After finishing it, I started paying more attention to layout choices in everything—from posters to websites.
