I look down at the baby, who is not crying now. She blinks sleepily, and I find myself wondering if dinosaurs ever blinked in the same way, before they were incinerated into dust.
Afterward, there is no kind of quiet like the one that is in my head.
You are a resident of your own thoughts. You had to find them, be aware of them, but once you located your thoughts you never had to drive away.
I realize the world will continue to turn, even with no people on it. Maybe it will go a little faster.
