When it comes to gothic stories, Sheridan Le Fanu is the king. This is my opinion of course. There are other great names out there like Edgar Allan Poe, M.R. James, and sometimes even Arthur Conan Doyle - who is better known for his crime books - but Irish horror master is always a little better in my opinion. This collection of five horror stories, when I first read it, haunted my dreams and I am not kidding. Strongly recommended. Solid 9/10.
