McAllister, Sutton Coldfield'da doğdu ve Tamworth'ta büyüdü. Tamworth'taki Belgrave Lisesi'ni (şu anda Tamworth Enterprise College olarak biliniyor) A-Levels ile bitirdikten sonra McAllister, Birmingham Üniversitesi'nde İngilizce okudu. Daha sonra hukuka geçti, GDL'yi okudu ve bir takdir aldı.
