Words and images are the two most important tools that human beings have used to express themselves and make the world more beautiful and livable since the day they existed. Especially cinema and other visual technologies are the means of communication and expression that people use most today. In this respect, our publishing house presents a book that will fill an important gap in its field to those interested in cinema and literature. In his work titled "Literature and Cinema: Cinema Technique in Marguerite Duras's Novels", Ahmet Gögercin brings together the two oldest and newest arts of the world, cinema and literature, and searches for images and investigates their effects on the literary world. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the changes seen in the literary world after the invention of photography and especially cinema. First, the book examines the relationship between cinema and literature in general, and examines the changes that occurred in literary works as a result of the adoption of cinema-specific techniques by writers, based on the novels of the famous French novelist and filmmaker Duras. In the book, as a result of the mutual exchanges between the worlds of cinema and literature, the transformation of the author's pen into a camera over time, the texts gaining a script-like structure by gaining visible qualities rather than being readable over time, the transformation of the classical reader into a spectator by abandoning his position are explained with examples taken from Duras's works. The book, which we think will fill a big gap in its field, will soon be published in Turkish by our publishing house and will be available to Turkish readers and researchers.
