This book contains some important articles and conferences presentations by Russian archaeologist and anthropologist Nikolay N. Kradin. They are divided into four parts in which the author has made contributions in the field of nomadology. The original conception of the author declares that the pastoral nomads had their specific pathway of socio-cultural evolution. Most of the book is dedicated to questions of the theory of nomadism, anthropology, archaeology, and history in the studying of nomadic life in Inner Asia steppe areas. Chronologically the book comes through the prehistorical and ancient nomads to our-days' Buryats and Tuvinians.

Nikolay Nikolaevich Kradin (d. 17 Nisan 1962, Buryatia, SSCB) Rus antropolog ve arkeologdur. 1985 yılından beri Vladivostok'taki Rusya Bilimler Akademisi Uzak Doğu Bölümü, Tarih, Arkeoloji ve Etnoloji Enstitülerinde araştırma görevlisidir. 1999'dan 2011'e kadar Uzak Doğu Ulusal Teknik Üniversitesi Sosyal Antropoloji Bölümü'nde baş profesör, ayrıca 2011'den beri Uzak Doğu Federal Üniversitesi Dünya Tarihi Bölümü'nde baş profesördür. 2011'den beri Rusya Bilimler Akademisi'nin sorumlu üyesidir.
