Max Tegmark (d. 5 Mayıs 1967), İsveç kökenli ABD'li kozmolog. Tegmark, Massachusetts Teknoloji Enstitüsü'nde bir profesördür ve Foundational Questions Institute'da bilim müdürlüğü görevini yürütmektedir.
Tegmark; Karin Tegmark ve Harold S. Shapiro'nun oğlu olarak İsveç'te dünyaya geldi. Stockholm'de bulunan Kraliyet Teknik Üniversitesi'ne gitti ve doktorasını Kaliforniya Üniversitesi, Berkeley'de yaptı. Pensilvanya Üniversitesi'nde bir süre çalıştıktan sonra hala öğretim üyesi olduğu Massachusetts Teknoloji Enstitüsü'ne geldi.
Çalışmalarında kozmolojiye odaklanan Tegmark, 200'den fazla makale yayınlamıştır ve bunların 9'u 500'den fazla kez alıntılanmıştır.[1] Bilgi kuramı çerçevesinde veri analiz araçları geliştirmiş ve bunu COBE, QMAP ve WMAP gibi kozmik mikrodalga arka plan ışıması deneylerinde kullanmıştır.
