Elizabeth Cleghorn Gaskell (d. 29 Eylül 1810 - ö. 12 Kasım 1865) Victoria devri İngiliz roman yazarı. Elizabeth Stevenson olarak doğdu. Manchesterpapazı William Gaskell ile evlendikten sonra, çoğunlukla kısaca Mrs. (Bayan) Gaskell olarak tanındı. Eşinin işi sayesinde toplumun farklı kesimlerini tanıma ve özellikle fakirlikleri görme şansı yakaladı. Romanlarında özellikle Manchester'daki endüstriye hayatı ve toplumu yazdı. Ayrıca bir deCharlotte Brontë biyografisi kaleme aldı. Charles Dickens'ın da desteklediği Gaskell'ın yazıları dergilerde yayınlandı. Yaşadığı dönemde kadın yazarlara çok nadir rastlanmaktaydı ama Gaskell kendine İngiliz edebiyat dünyasına bir yer edindi.
