John Connolly, 1968 yılında Dublin'de doğdu. Gazeteci, barmen, garson ve tezgahtar olarak çeşitli işlerde çalıştı. Dublin Üniversitesi'nde gazetecilik eğitimi gören Connolly The Irish Times'da serbest muhabir olarak çalışmakta devam etmektedir.
