Plot Summary
Allie Edwards is a romance novelist who has completely lost her spark. Suffering from a severe case of writer’s block and facing a looming deadline, she fears her career is over.
At a party, she meets Martin Clark, a legendary but grumpy crime fiction writer who is facing the exact same problem—he can’t seem to figure out how to kill off his next victim. In a moment of desperation (and perhaps a bit too much wine), they strike an unusual bargain: they will swap genres. * Allie will attempt to write Martin’s gritty murder mystery.
Martin will try his hand at Allie’s sweet contemporary romance.
The Twist
As Allie dives into Martin’s world to find inspiration, she meets his son, Will. Unlike his father’s dark novels, Will is charming, kind, and complicates Allie's life in the best way possible. As she spends more time with Will, the lines between the "fictional" romance she is supposed to be writing and her "real" feelings begin to blur.
