Austen never married, instead living with her family in several places, including Bath, where many of her novels are set. Austen began feeling unwell in early 1816, but ignored the warning signs. In May 1817, the family moved to Winchester to seek a cure for Austen's illness; However, he died on July 18, 1817, at a young age. His body was buried in Winchester Cathedral.
