She is working in the interface of sociolinguistics/sociology of language and social anthropology - on theory about language and culture in a global perspective. Recent books: 'Language and Culture: Global Flows and Local Complexity' (Multilingual Matters 2006) and 'Language and Culture Pedagogy: From a National to a Transnational Paradigm' (Multilingual Matters 2007). She teachs at the Cultural Encounters programme, and she is member of the CALPIU center and network (= Cultural and Linguistic Practices in the International University)
