1954 yılında New Jersey'de doğan Philip Jodidio, sanat ve ekonomi tarihi okuduğu Harvard'dan mezun oldu. 1980'den 2002'ye kadar en geniş tirajlı Fransız sanat dergisi Connaissance des Arts'ın Genel Yayın Yönetmeniydi. Ağırlıklı olarak çağdaş mimari hakkında 130'dan fazla kitabın yazarıdır. Richard Meier, Norman Foster, Santiago Calatrava, Alvaro Siza, Zaha Hadid, Renzo Piano, Tadao Ando, Jean Nouvel ve Shigeru Ban hakkında monografiler yayınladı. Ayrıca Ağa Han Kültür Vakfı ile Müslüman dünyasıyla ilgili kitaplar üzerinde çalıştı.
