Öncelikle kitabın konusu: ailesiyle arası açılan Ela, tayinini bir köye aldırır. Bilmediği ve kimsesi olmayan küçük bir ilçede yaşamaya başlar. Hafta içi ise servisle köye gider. Derken bütün köyün öve öve bitiremediği doktor Çınar' la tanışır. Ayrıca Ela'nın katıldığı bir yardım vakfında da vardır. Ve hemen yan komşudur.
O kadar tatlı ve günümüzde internet deyişiyle, aesthetic,soft bir kitaptı. Tabi soft ama karakterimiz ailesiyle arasını düzeltmeye çalışması bunun üzerinde uğraşması gibi konuları da içermekte. Benimde köy hayatı hakkında bildiklerim var ve kitapta köyü anlatırken abartmamış olması beni sevindirdi. Birebir aynı diyebiliriz.
Içinde kötü unsurları barındırmaması da bir o kadar iyi. Çünkü artık o kadar çoğaldı ki, kitap alırken tereddütle alıyordum. Bu da biraz öyle olmuştu ama kitap beni yarı yolda bırakmadı.
Ayrıca kitaptaki romantizm yedirilerek yazılmış. Olaylar yavaş yavaş,mantık çerçevesinde ilerliyor.

My journey with this story began unexpectedly when I saw a vintage GIF of a young woman reading on a train. That aesthetic curiosity led me to the 1945 film and, eventually, this captivating novel.
What struck me most was the circular narrative structure; beginning and ending with Richard Harland’s return, it creates a sense of inevitability. While many focus on Ellen’s "monstrous" nature, I found the supporting characters equally unsettling. The "pure" characters—the Mother, Ruth, and Richard—were far from innocent. There was a subtle, pervasive gaslighting at play, particularly from Ellen's mother, which added layers of psychological complexity to the tragedy.
Richard often acted as a passive participant in his own life, behaving as though the marriage was something forced upon him, even though Ellen’s obsession was clear from the start. The presence of Danny served as a pivotal trial for everyone involved, pushing Ellen’s jealousy toward a point of no return.
Though Ellen committed truly heinous acts, the book succeeds because it shows a "Mastermind" created by an environment of emotional neglect and obsession. The finale was haunting and perfectly executed—a dark masterpiece of Technicolor Noir.

At its core, the series continues to pose the same existential question: "If you could go back in time, knowing you cannot change the present, who would you choose to meet?" While some might see the repetition as a flaw, I see it as a meditative ritual.
Ultimately, I would define this work as a poignant chronicle of grief. It explores the weight of things left unsaid and the quiet strength required to finally let go. It reminds us that while we cannot rewrite our history, we can always choose to change how we carry our memories into the future.

Zaten o dönemde yazıldı, ben de o yıllarda okudum. Gece gece nostalji batağına düşünce, hafızamda kalanlarla bir inceleme yazmak istedim.
2014 Tumblr'ı hatırlayan var mı? Blog ile İnstagram karışımı popüler bir siteydi. Fakat kendi fotoğraflarınızı değil, sizi anlatan fotoğrafları paylaşıyordunuz. "Vibe"ınızı anlatıyordunuz yani ya da "core" "aesthetic" mi diyorlar? Her neyse.
Depresif bir atmosferdi popüler olan: kesik bilek, intihar, siyah-gri renk, hüzün ya da daha ziyade hissizlik...
Ölüme Fısıldayan Adam da bu havayı taşıyor.
İntihar etmek isteyen hatta teşebbüs eden Yosun, Özgür adında bir suçluyla karşılaşır. Wattpad'de kitaba ilk rastlayışım, benim de bir bunalım ve boşluk anıma dek gelmişti. Ergenlikte ve etkilenmeye açık bir okuru dibe çok rahat çekebilir ama ben zaten dipteydim ve tuhaf bir şekilde yukarı çıkardı beni. 18 yaşındaydım.
Bir yıl sonra kitap basıldı, alıp okudum ama sevmedim. Sıktı beni. Büyümüştüm. Duygusal boşluktan çıkmıştım ve zevklerim biraz daha gelişmişti.
Buradaki eleştiriler genelde kitabın depresif olması ve gençlerin üzerindeki olumsuz tesiri üzerine. Ben başka bir yönden eleştireceğim.
Geri dönüp baktığımda kitaptaki olay örgüsünde "gerçekçilik eksikliği" olduğunu fark ediyorum. Epey hem de. Kitabı tekrar okumadan, hatırladıklarımla söylüyorum.
Kitaptaki sahneler görsellik açısından hoş. Küvet sahnesi mesela... Anime olsa çok iyi olurdu. Ama bu bir roman. Romanlarda belli bir ciddiyet gerekiyor -sarkazm yapılacaksa bile ustalıkla yapılmalı- ve bu kitapta o yok.
Nasıl desem... O olaylar öyle gelişmez. O kişiler öyle davranmaz.
Örnek vermeye üşendim. Kitabı önceden okuyanlar varsa; Yosun, Pınar, Özgür, Levent, Hale vs. hepsini ve neler yaptıklarını tek tek düşündüğünüzde fark edeceksiniz.
