Main idea which I have concluded from this story is that marriage and relationships limit people’s behaviors and this may continue to a life time without even being aware of it. Responsibilities and demands that marriage brings about make people unselfish. That’s why every human being needs to take this into account and contemplate soundly before deciding to get involved in a serious relationship.

The story serves an aim for warning people not to adhere to their customs blindly and the author demonstrates her discountenance towards the unorthodox.

First, I watched the movie of this work and then I read the short story. The subject itself is excellent; a person who ages backwards. In the movie there are a lot of symbols to be analyzed, most of which can be pragmatic. However, in the short story, I could not find any symbols or any metaphorical feature, which is surprising for me. I loved both the movie and the short story but I need to add that the movie with its various characters and it’s hidden messages were much better than the short story and I guess it is due to the successful director of the movie, David Fincher. As to the short story, I think it is worth reading. But I strongly recommend to watch the movie as well.
