This book opened a lot of things in my perspective. Firstly the perspective of friendship. Farly is Dolly’s best friend. Every page she always talks about their friendship and her. A lot of people criticize Dolly because she mentions Farly too much. Sometimes i agree with this argument. I wished she mention about her less and talk about the event. But this part showed me how important is friendship. Its come first than relationship. There was a no chronology that i imagined and because of that I couldn’t catch the pages sometimes. Secondly the perspective of getting old. She explains every age especially teenage so lively. When she mentions early ages it was like i was reading my thoughts and going throughs. The best part was definitely the age of 30. You are finishing your 20s but you are opening a new phrase. This part showed me i don’t have to always feel like my 20s over, i have to thing that i earned at 30s that my 20s self was wanting. And thirdly romance and self-esteem. Any man is not important than my self love and my self-esteem. If somebody giving you mixing signals then you have to let them go and focus on your mental health. If somebody loses interest in you, you probably feel the worst. But not than losing self-esteem. The final talk was amazing. Everything i know about love means the love, friendship that i own for Farly. Men come and go but friendship always stay. We have to stick to our friendship. And also i want to mention about Florence. Thank you for pushing Dolly to write more. R.I.P Eylül Dündar Everything I Know About Love Dolly Alderton

4/5 Stars (%75/100) I really liked it and I could say some parts of the book actually made me open my eyes to certain situations in my life. The book was recommended to me by the YouTube channel "Kurzgesagt" and I wanted to check it out and see if it could help me or not. I did not have any expectations as I don't really like reading self-help books nor I enjoy them when I do read. I really liked that Winch is very straightforward about how he presents his ideas. It goes like this: Psychological injury is introduced, how it actually injures you, many examples are given from real life, and finally some tips for treating the injury. The structure is the same for all 7 of these injuries. I highlighted many parts and I will probably come back to the book from time to time. I also plan to use some of these treatments for myself and also for people I care about. Here's a short summary but I would highly suggest you to read it yourself because these cannot be explained in few sentences. Winch did a great job with the treatment sections. 1-Rejection: The Emotional Cuts and Scrapes of Daily Life Treatments: -Argue with self-criticism -Revive your self-worth -Replenish feelings of social connection -Desensitize yourself 2-Loneliness: Relationship Muscle Weakens Treatments: -Remove your negatively tinted glasses -Identify your self-defeating behaviors -Take on the other person's perspective -Deepen your emotional bonds -Create opportunities for social connection -Adopt a best friend 3-Loss and Trauma: Walking on Broken Bones Treatments: -Soothe your emotional pain your way -Recover lost aspects of your self -Find meaning in tragedy 4-Guilt: The Poison in Our System Treatments:

Isaacson manages to portray the personality of Leonardo well-enough. His style in this book is kind of less riveting than "Steve Jobs" book of him. As for Leonardo, his main characteristics are extreme creativity, curiosity, being a great observer, perfectionist and polymath. On the other hand, it was surprising to see that he was a great procrastinator and was infamous for not finishing what he started. He jumps from topic to topic and pursues knowledge just for the sake of knowledge which does not make sense at all. Had he managed to focus his attention, he could have contributed to the humanity much more. So, to me, by just comparing his potential and performance, Leonardo's life was a "failure".
