Black Clover has the potential to be among the best shonen series (Naruto, Bleach, HxH and so on). I found the first volume to be an enjoyable one. It is difficult to catch the attention of the audience and many series fail to do it which in the end, causes people to drop the series (For example, Fire Force which is brilliant but the start is a bit slow and quite boring from time to time).
To put it simply, Black Clover is about two boys, Asta and Yuno, who want to be the Magic Emperor (think of it like Hokage). Yuno is a genius whereas Asta is a loser. The thing I like the most about Black Clover is the magic system. The magic system is one of the best I've ever read like Nen in Hunter x Hunter. The possibilities are endless with this system and it makes the series so much better.
In this volume, we are introduced to many characters apart from Asta and Yuno. We learn about the magic, grimoires, Magic Knights, and more. I liked this volume in general and since this is the first volume, I wanted to write a longer review.
