I've read the major words of Morrison and I think Beloved is still my favorite. Morrison's novels are brutally honest, graphic and disturbing. They are not easy to read for a variety of reasons and sometimes it makes reading less enjoyable for me. However, there is no doubt that she was a very talented writer, especially in terms of African-American literature. I've read this book before but I could not remember when. We just studied the novel and I decided to read it very quickly to remember it. The Bluest Eye is a disturbing yet beautiful novel. I do agree that Morrison is not for everyone.
