Three Istanbuls follows the rise and fall of an intellectual across three distinct historical periods of Istanbul: the reign of Abdülhamid II, the Constitutional Era, and the Armistice years. Through ambition, power, and shifting moral values, the novel portrays the transformation of both the individual and society.
Yorum / Review:
İnanılmaz düz ama etkili bir anlatım tarzıyla nokta atışı yapan bir yazar Kuntay. Özellikle kitabın son bölümleri o kadar yoğun öğüt ve iç görü barındırıyor ki, insanın hayata bakışı değişiyor; adeta hayatın değeri artıyor. Nefesimi tutarak bitirdiğim bir eser oldu.
Kuntay writes with a remarkably plain yet precise narrative style. Especially the final chapters are filled with reflections and lessons that deepen one’s appreciation of life. I finished it almost holding my breath.
