Good will
Kant derives his ethical theory from the ordinary moral consciousness. He begins with the assertion that nothing is unconditionally good except a good will, whose worth is entirely separable from the value of the results it brings about. This initial claim derives its plausibility from the widely held idea that moral evaluations focus primarily on people's intentions.
