My monolithic expectation of what a women's body was supposed to look like had no bearing on what actually happened to my body. The two things were wholly unrelated. I never became the women I imagined. And what was İ expecting? The kind of body that you see in girl magazines. A body that fit the mold of what people describe as 'sexy'. A body that provokes sexual fantasy. A source of desire. I guess I could say that I thought all women grew up to have that kind of body, but that's not things played out.
prettiness means value. But some people never experienced that personally.
Writing makes me happy. But it goes beyond that. Writing is my life’s work. I’m absolutely positive that this is what I’m here to do. Even if it turns out that I don’t have the ability, and no one out there wants to read a single word of it, there’s nothing I can do about this feeling. I can’t make it go away
If you want to know how poor somebody was growing up, ask them how many windows they had.
Okuduğum dördümcü 
Mieko Kawakami kitabı oldu. Kitap güzel bir şekilde başlıyor ama tam konunum içine girmişken hop kitap farklı bir yere evriliyor. Kitabın aslında belli bir konusu yok gibi ordan oraya geçişler yapıyor yazarın bir meselesi var anlatması gereken ve aslında sanki bunun aktarılması gerekiyormuş gibi bir an önce koştur koştur okuyucuyu da peşine takıyor. Sevdim mi evet sevdim ben yazarın tarzımı, dilini zaten çok seviyorum. Kendine özgü benzetmeleri, karakterleriyle tipik Japon edebiyatı okuyucusuna yani bana hitap ediyor. Sadece konuyu çok dağınık bulduğum için kendimce puan kırdım. Kadın olmaya, çocuk sahibi olmaya, evlat olmaya be ebeveyn olup olamamaya dair çok şey bulacağınız bir eser olmuş. Yazar yazsın hepsini de okumaya açım.
