Maurice Druon, Fransız yazarı (Doğumu: 23 Nisan 1918, Paris), Siyasal Bilgiler Fakültesi’ni bitirdi. Bir süre gazetecilik yaptı. Otuz yaşındayken gazeteciliği bıraktı, kendini edebiyata verdi. Pek çok kitap yazdı. Kitapları çeşitli dillere çevrildi. Büyük Aileler adlı romanıyla, (1948’de) Fransa’nın en büyük edebiyat ödülü olan, Goncourt Ödülü’nü kazandı. Romanlarının yanı sıra, denemeleri de vardır. Çocuklar için bir tek roman yazmıştır: Yeşil Parmaklı Tistu.
