The central concept in Islam, as reflected in the Shahadah, is Tawhid, or Oneness of God.
We human beings are weak and frail. We have no knowledge of the future and the knowledge we have is limited. Also, we are not perfect. This is the reason why Allah has blessed us with guidance through prophets and messengers.
A true believer does not commit a sin either secrectly or in the darkness of night, nor does he feel himself alone wherever he is.
In fact, Allah is nearer to us than our own jugular-vein.
