yazarın okuduğum ilk kitabıydı ama miras kitabının da o kadar övgüsünü duydum ki, onu da listeme ekledim.
kitabımıza gelecek olursak, johanna’nın annesiyle saplantılı denebilecek bir biçimde iletişim kurma isteğini, çocukluk anılarına sık sık dönüşünü, kız kardeşiyle arasındaki mesafeyi ve sorunlu babasına dair dinlediklerini okurken hikâyenin nereye bağlanacağını; özellikle de annesinin gerçekte Johanna hakkında ne düşündüğünü merak içinde takip ettim. hatta bir süre, bu iletişimsizliğin sebebinin mektupların ulaşmaması ya da yanlış numaraların çevrilmesi olduğunu bile düşündüm. oysa johanna, ailesinin ona biçtiği hayatı reddedip hukuk eğitimini ve avukat kocasını geride bırakarak kendi seçtiği biriyle yeni bir yaşam kurmuş, hayallerinin peşinden gitmiştir ama yıllar sonra tanınmış bir ressam olarak doğduğu şehre geri dönmesiyle hikâye başlıyor; geçmişle bugün arasında gidip gelen hatırlamaları, annesinin şimdiki yaşamına dair kurduğu ihtimaller, küçük iz sürmelerle ilerleyen bir bilinç akışı atmosferi ve en önemli içindeki hesaplaşma arzusu. bu hesaplaşma arzusu giderek öyle takıntılı bir boyut kazanıyor ki, bir noktadan sonra biz de johanna’yla birlikte daralan bir dünyanın içine sıkışmış gibi hissediyoruz. Choo Nam-joo’s novel Palsip Yi Nyeon Saeng Kim Jiyeong (better known in English as Kim Ji-young, Born 1982) is a deceptively simple yet profoundly impactful book. At first glance, it tells the life story of an ordinary Korean woman, Kim Jiyeong, tracing her experiences from childhood through adulthood. But as the narrative unfurls, it becomes clear that Ji-young’s life is far from “ordinary." It is a case study in the cumulative effects of everyday gender inequality.
The writing style is clear and direct, almost documentary-like, often presenting events with a clinical objectivity that makes the reader all the more aware of how “normal” discrimination can feel. We see Jiyeong repeatedly sidelined: in school when boys are prioritized and her concerns are dismissed; in the workplace through unequal pay, limited promotion opportunities, and subtle harassment; and later in domestic life where she is expected to sacrifice her career to become a full-time caregiver. These experiences are not presented as rare injustices, but as the everyday reality for many women, which is precisely the point.
One striking aspect of the novel is how it blends fictional life moments with real statistics and social commentary, sometimes through footnotes or contextual details that extend beyond Jiyeong’s personal story. This approach underlines how pervasive and normalized gender bias is. It’s not just one woman’s tragedy but a representation of structural inequality.
What makes the novel especially powerful is that it builds to something deeper than a recounting of wrongs: it reveals how systemic patriarchy distorts identity and self-worth. Professor Luria’s book thus marks a further and decisive step toward the eventual coalescence of neurology and psychology, a goal to which only a few laboratories on the East and West have been devoted over the last decades. The book is unique in its organization. The first half deals with observations and interpretations concerning the major syndromes of man’s left cerebral hemisphere:
Those grievous distortions of higher functions traditionally described as aphasia, agnosia, and apraxia. There is also a detailed and brilliant analysis of the syndrome of massive frontal-lobe involvement. The entire second half of the book is given over to a painstaking description of Professor Luria’s tests, many of them introduced by himself, and set out in such detail that anyone could repeat them and thus verify Professor Luria’s interpretations. The two halves of the book are equally challenging and original. In the first, more theoretical, section, Professor Luria gives an account of the major syndromes in terms that reject with the same force the traditional localizationist view -the notion of discrete centers for different aspects of language, of calculation or writing- and the opposite view of holistic function of the cerebral hemisphere, a view clearly incompatible with clinical and experimental fact. In a similar way, Professor Luria’s re-analysis of agnosia and apraxia reveals inadequacies of these clinical shorthand expressions, he points out that more elementary sensory and motor changes shade into the allegedly isolated aspects of distorted “higher” function, whether of recognition or skilled movement. This relatively short book is about an exceptional man with an extraordinary memory capacity. The author introduced him as "a Jewish boy who, having failed as a musician and as a journalist, had become a mnemonist". Whilst the focus of the book is the subject’s "vast memory", what the author eventually depicts is a man whose total personality is truly unique and complex. What emerges is a picture of a strange man with very great expectations but unfulfilled ambitions, whose inexhaustible memory capacity is matched only by his enigmatic nature. Quite fascinating is the author’s forensic and painstaking unraveling of the underlying mechanism behind this man’s phenomenal memory and unusual character (page 4). The book’s comprehensive approach was guided by the author’s precept that ‘the thoughtful physician is never interested merely in the course of a disease he happens to be studying at the moment, but tries to determine what effect a disturbance has on other organic processes…thus giving rise to the total picture of disease (pages 4-5). He exemplified this precept throughout the book, urging others to follow his example and study other psychological syndromes such as this (page 5).
The author, a psychologist and neurologist, studied the protagonist, now known as Solomon Shereshevsky, for almost thirty years, starting in the 1920’s. His approach was methodical, typified by a keen attention to detail, and carried out over a long period of time. What he unearthed was a rare and exceptional man whose memory he described as ‘one of the keenest the literature on the subject has ever described’ (page 3). It didn’t take much testing for the author to realise that "it was impossible to establish a point of limit to the capacity or the duration of his memory" because he had the

Kızda adamla kendine güven sonsuz sevilme el üstünde tutulma muhteşem seks aşk buldu .
Auburn ile Gianna arasındaki şakalaşma halleri çok iyiydi seks zaten ortalığı yakıyordu bence :D
Aslında 8 verecektim ama yazar biraz sonuna sakızlaştırmış ondan kırdım genel olarak akıcı tatlış bir kitaptı . Aralarında aptal saptal yanlış anlamalar olmaması duygularını olayları açık net konuşabilmeleri çok iyiydi .
