Too much had changed in such a short amount of time, and I wasn’t at the stage where any of this was normal for me in my mind.Maybe with time…. Yeah, I wasn’t even sure then.Wanting to stay in the shower forever, I sighed, knowing I couldn’t. It was tempting, though.
My stupid heart beat so fast it caused my ears to ring. I’d brought trouble to my sister’s doorstep, and now she didn’t have a choice but to run with us… if we could make it out.
I wanted to turn around and say something, anything to get her attention, but I sat still like a moron, unsure what the best thing would be to say.Never had I expected the night would lead us to be in a car with a woman who had somehow dug her claws into us. It was also something she’d never foreseen, but it had me wondering. Did she feel a connection to us?
Hell, before I was reborn into whatever I was, I didn’t even know there were others in the world. I’d always thought vampires, werewolves, witches, fae, and demons were the things of fairy tales and romance stories. Then again, I hadn’t actually met any other species, but I took a big guess that there were more than just humans in the world or else, how was I created?
